What is Sticky Navigation?
Sticky Navigation (also called fixed navigation) is a navigation menu that remains visible and fixed at the top of the screen as a user scrolls down a webpage. Sticky navigation improves user experience by keeping important navigation links constantly accessible, reducing the need for users to scroll back to the top.
Sticky navigation is a simple UX feature that significantly improves engagement and conversion on long-form B2B SaaS landing pages.
- Accessibility: Long landing pages (3,000-5,000 words) can discourage scrolling. Sticky navigation keeps the "Get Demo" or "Sign Up" CTA constantly visible, increasing conversions from content that would otherwise require scrolling back to the top.
- Brand Visibility: Sticky navigation keeps your logo and brand name visible at all times, reinforcing brand awareness as users scroll through content.
- Mobile Optimization: On mobile, sticky navigation is especially valuable because screen space is limited. A sticky nav bar saves space while keeping navigation accessible.
Example from Flowtrix Projects
For an enterprise SaaS landing page with 4,000 words of content, we implemented sticky navigation. Users could now click "Book Demo" from any point on the page without scrolling back to the top. This increased demo bookings by 18% without any change to the page content itself.
