Flow (User Flow)

What is Flow (User Flow)?

User Flow visually maps the steps, decisions, and Touchpoints a user encounters while moving toward a goal, such as signing up for a trial or contacting sales. It's a fundamental part of Information Architecture and is often mapped alongside the Customer Journey.

Why User Flow Matters in Conversion?

Optimizing the User Flow is essential because it guarantees the shortest, clearest path to conversion.

  • Friction Reduction: Identifying and eliminating unnecessary steps in the flow (e.g., too many form fields, confusing navigation) directly increases the Conversion Rate.
  • Goal Alignment: It ensures that every page and Section serves the strategic purpose of moving the user closer to the primary CTA.
  • Testing: A mapped flow provides a clear structure for conducting Usability Testing and A/B Testing.

Example from Flowtrix Projects

Flowtrix always maps the most critical User Flows, such as the path from the Hero Section to the demo request, before starting a Webflow build. By structuring the Information Architecture around these flows, we ensure the design guides the user effortlessly, minimizing Bounce Rate and maximizing the Conversion Rate for our B2B clients.
